To begin the discard pile, the top card is positioned face-up, and the remaining cards form a draw pile. In order to form melds and lower the total value of their unmatched cards, players alternately draw cards from the draw or discard pile. Until the draw pile runs out of cards or until one player successfully melds all of their cards, the game is over.
