A run is made up of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, whereas a set is made up of three or four cards of the same rank but different suits.
  • To do this, one could pretend to be interested in particular cards or purposefully discard cards that could give opponents false information about one's true intentions. For example, opponents may assume they are not pursuing a particular combination if a player discards a card that appears irrelevant but is actually a part of a possible run. This gives them the opportunity to work toward completing the combination unhindered.
