The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) returns to Harrah's Cherokee for the second time this year. The festival kicks off on May 1 and runs until May 12.

The previous iteration of the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Cherokee took place in February.

The Main Event drew some notice, but not for the usual reasons. During a break in the tournament, a man stormed into the tournament area and started flipping the tables over.

As the chips scattered and mingled on the poker room carpet, security subdued the man, leaving the tournament team and the eye in the sky to piece together the players' chip counts with impressive rapidity. The tournament was back on track within a few hours.

This time around, things should go more smoothly.

The WSOP Circuit Harrah's Cherokee will award 18 WSOPC rings while also hosting side events and satellites.

There will be $3,720,000 in guarantees across the 18 ring events, with $1,000,000 guaranteed for the Main Event alone.

This Main Event will be the most prestigious of the festival's tourneys. However, if a buy in of $1,700, there is also a $2,200 High Roller tourney for the well-heeled and a wide selection of games with a $400 price tag for the low rollers.

For variety, these lower-cost ring events will include closed events for Seniors and Ladies as well as open events for pot limit Omaha players and PLO8 degenerates.

The Defending Champion

Florian Pesce
Florian Pesce shows his winning hand.

At the February Main Event, once the upset tables were righted and the chip counts reconstructed, the Main Event continued, ultimately going to Florian Pesce.

Pesce beat Jarrett Mullins heads up to take the prize. In the process, Pesce topped a field of 1,710 players and earned $368,380, culled from a total prize pool of $2,590,650.

Mullins won $245,597 for second place.

These numbers were a marked increase over the previous edition of the tourney that was held in December 2024. Perhaps we'll see some more growth in the upcoming May edition of the event.

Between now and the beginning of the Harrah's Cherokee stop, the Circuit is hitting up the Horseshoe Tunica in Florida.

The WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Tunica kicked off on Thursday, April 17. The twelve-day event runs until April 28.

After the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Cherokee starts, there will be two events, both starting on May 8 — the WSOP Circuit Commerce and WSOP Circuit Caesars Southern Indiana.

That will bring the 2024/2025 season to a close and players can start looking forward to the new season.

previous:By putting more effort into creating legitimate combinations, players can cut down on deadwood and improve their chances of winning. In addition to assisting in reaching the desired score, this proactive approach puts pressure on rivals who might be having trouble forming their own melds. Keeping an eye on opponents' draws and discards is another crucial component of strategy. One can learn a lot about other players' hands by closely observing which cards they are picking up or discarding. For example, it might be a sign that an opponent is not pursuing melds in a given suit if they routinely discard cards from that suit. By using this information, you can make more strategic decisions about which cards to keep and which to discard, possibly preventing your opponents from finishing their melds.NEXT:Players can draw and discard cards more intelligently if they have a better understanding of how the remaining cards are distributed. Bluffing, a skillful tactic that can perplex opponents & create opportunities for victory, is another sophisticated technique. For example, opponents might undervalue the strength of your hand if you routinely discard low-value cards while keeping high-value ones. This deception may cause them to base bad choices on false impressions of your gameplay. You can gain a considerable advantage over less seasoned players and improve your overall enjoyment of 666e Rummy by integrating these sophisticated strategies into your overall strategy. Mastery will eventually come from experience & practice, just like in any skill-based game.
