Following a hugely successful debut in London, where Getnet Kasa bested 490 opponents in the £500 buy-in Main Event, the new PartyPoker Tour headed to the Manchester235 Casino for the PartyPoker Tour Manchester leg.
The £500 buy-in Main Event drew in a crowd of 243 entrants who created a £107,248 prize pool. Deniz Orhan came out on top and walked away with £19,843 after a heads-up deal with Ronnie Marland. Orhan's payout was made sweeter by his winning his way into the Main Event via an online satellite at PartyPoker. Orhan netted himself three PartyPoker Tour packages, but fired only one bullet on his way to an impressive victory.

A double elimination kicked off the final table's action. Jonathan Hanley moved all-in for 11 big blinds from the cutoff, Ronnie Marland three-bet all-in from the small blind, only for Julian Mosquera to jam for seven big blinds from the big blind. Marland's pocket kings were the best hand preflop, and they remained so through a jack-high board. Mosquera busted in ninth for £2,340 with Harley falling in eighth for £2,800.
James O'Brien fell next, his ace-queen proving no match for Ion Oprea's dominating ace-king. O'Brien headed to the cashier's desk to collect £3,350.
Sixth place and £4,075 went to Ireland's Gerard Harraghy before PartyPoker Tour ambassador Natalie Bromley crashed out in cruel circumstances. The popular "Brommers" committed the last of her chips with pocket sevens, which were flipping against Marland's queen-ten. Although Marland didn't connect with the board, the board double paired with aces and kings, meaning his queen-kicker was enough to dust off Bromley's stack. She picked up £5,045 for her deep run.

Georgiev's pocket tens were flipping against Marland's ace-queen, and an ace on the river sealed his fate. Georgiev had flopped an open-ended straight draw, but it wasn't to be.
A short-stack Oprea fell in third for £10,000. Oprea called a river shove with second-pair only to discover Marland had roped him along, having flopped two pair. That hand gave Marland a three-to-one chip lead going into heads-up.
Marland may have had one hand on the trophy, but Orhan had other ideas. He clawed himself level before nudging himself in front. Realizing the one-on-one battle could go either way, the heads-up duo discussed and agreed to a deal that locked in £16,235 and left £3,608 and the trophy to play for.
Almost immediately after play resumed, Orhan all but eliminated Marland when he turned trip fours when Marland held top pair. Marland was forced all-in on the next hand, but he survived. Any hopes of a comeback for the ages ended when Marland's five-three lost to Orhan's jack-eight courtesy of a jack on the turn.
The PartyPoker Tour heads to Glasgow in Bonny Scotland from August 12-17, with satellites available online at PartyPoker from only £0.20. From there, the tour heads to Birmingham's Genting Resorts World Casino after partnering with casino giants, Genting.
The fourth leg of the tour features a £150 buy-in Mini Main Event, a £500 buy-in Main Event, and a sprinkling of side events throughout the week.
