- Rummy's basic objective is to merge all of your cards before your opponents do, which is accomplished by creating sets and runs from a hand of cards. For example, a run is a series of three or more cards in the same suit, whereas a set is three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. Depending on which version of the game is being played—Oklahoma Rummy, Indian Rummy, or Gin Rummy—the rules can change slightly. The game can be played with two to six players. When using wild cards or jokers, it's critical to strategically prioritize their use. Use the joker to finish a set or run rather than holding onto it for too long, for instance, if you have a joker in your hand but also have a number of high-point cards that are challenging to meld. But it's just as crucial to consider how you use jokers in respect to the hands of your opponents. A joker drawn from the deck or picked up from the discard pile could make it easier for an opponent to finish their melds than it was previously. 25-03-15

You can keep one step ahead of your opponents by constantly reevaluating your hand and remaining receptive to new tactics. In rummy, it can be equally crucial to know when to play aggressively and when to drop out of a round. Dropping is the act of ceasing to play a round before melding all of your cards, usually because you think that doing so would result in a higher point total than is necessary.
