  • The main goal is to combine cards into legitimate combinations, which can be runs (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) or sets (three or four cards of the same rank). After a certain number of cards are dealt to each player, the remaining cards are gathered into a draw pile. Players alternately draw from the discard or draw piles in an effort to strengthen their hands while also monitoring the moves of their rivals. When a player declares Rummy and wins the round by successfully melding all of their cards, the game is over.
