Player in the Spotlight:slots meaning Mario Mosböck Completes Triton Poker Hat Trick

Mario Mosböck was seemingly destined for stardom regardless of the path he took. As a youngster, Mosböck played professional football (soccer to our American brethren) for SKN St. Polten II, scoring 21 goals in 48 appearances for the Austrian outfit before breaking into the first team. Although his professional football career ended in 2017, only three years after it began, Mosböck has made amends by achieving superstar status in the poker world by scoring a different kind of hat trick.
Mosböck first cashed in a Triton Poker Super High Roller Series event in March 2023 when he finished 10th in the $25,000 NLHE GG Super Millions for $81,000 in Vietnam. Several more cashes in Triton events followed, including a runner-up finish in the 2023 Triton Monte-Carlo $200K Invitational that earned the Austrian a cool $2,690,000. While in Monte-Carlo in 2023, Mosböck captured the $40,000 NLHE 7-Handed Mystery Bounty title and walked away with $1,438,000, including bounties.
Like every football player, Mosböck was hungry for more success after helping himself to his maiden Triton title. The Austrian didn't have long to wait before sampling the sweet taste of victory again because he took down the $25,000 NLH GGMillion$ at the 2024 Triton Poker Jeju festival for $1,191,196.
Being full of confidence and having a bankroll to match his self-belief, Mosböck was sensational at the 2024 Triton Poker Monte-Carlo stop. Three final table appearances and two seven-figure hauls saw Mosböck rake in $2,914,316.
Fast forward to the 2025 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju, and Mosböck almost became a three-time Triton champion in the second event. He finished second to Tuck Wai Foo in the $20,000 NLH 8-Handed event for $856,000.
After shooting blanks in the following three events, the stars aligned for Mosböck in the $50,000 No-Limit Hold'em 7-Handed event. He navigated to the eight-handed final table in third place with a 35 big blind stack. Mosböck improved his position after sending Matas Cimbolas, who earlier pulled more than $1 million in mystery bounties from the previous event, home in eighth.
Triton Poker Player Pulls Over $1 Million in Mystery BountiesWho was it?Mike Watson lost a coinflip with Bryn Kenney and crashed out in seventh before Juan Pardo eliminated Brandon Wilson in sixth. The dominant Kenney then sent Dylan Linde home in fifth. At this stage, Mosböck was the shortest stack, but Pardo's king-queen of diamonds couldn't melt the Austrian's snowmen, and he was back in business.
Steve O'Dwyer ran out of steam in fourth, locking in a seven-figure score for the three surviving players. Mosböck chipped up during three-handed play and found himself heads-up against Kenney after relieving Pardo of his sub-ten big blind stack.
Kenney went into heads-up with a 52 big blind to 35 big blind lead over Mosböck. However, the pair struck an ICM deal to reduce the pay jump's severity; the deal left a nominal $70,000 to play for.
Remember how we said the stars aligned for Mosböck earlier? In the first one-on-one hand, he found aces, which improved to a set on the river. His queen-jack flopped trips, and Kenney paid him off in the next hand; then, Mosböck picked up pocket queens a few hands later. Kenney jammed with nine-eight, Mosböck called with the ladies, and they held to clinch Mosböck's third Triton Poker title, drawing him level with fellow Austrian Matthias Eibinger.

Mosböck has several more opportunities in Jeju to capture his fourth Triton Poker title and join Wai Kin Yong, Mike Watson, Bryn Kenney, and Fedor Holz in that exclusive club. The $100,000 NLHE Main Event starts March 7, with the $125,000 NLHE 7-Handed shuffling up and dealing on March 8.
Should the former football ace fancy a change from No-Limit Hold'em, there are Pot-Limit Hold'em and Short Deck events on the horizon, too. Even if Mosböck doesn't reel in another victory in Jeju, it is highly unlikely that this will be the last time he lifts the famous Triton Poker winner's trophy aloft.
